I read a fair number of LJs of people not my friends. I started off trying to find stories that these people had written, but I've become fascinated with many of their lives. Maybe I've gotten a bit too involved.

One of these women, a smart, funny, talented and seemingly irrepressible person, just lost her husband to suicide. I believe they had only been married for a few years, and they had learned she was pregnant only a few weeks ago.

A friend of hers, commenting on this tragedy, said that she loved [this guy] but if he were here she'd like to beat him up for all the collateral damage he's done.

I've felt that way myself a number of times. I've seen suicide destroy the lives of family and friends. Thank G-d I've never lost anyone I cared about this way, but many of my dear friends have, and they will not get over it. Not ever.

If anyone who reads here is thinking about this, just don't. Don't you fucking dare. There are people who love you and they do not deserve it. Talk to me, talk to someone, find ways to fix it. But you do not have the right to wreak that kind of devastation.
